Conference Participations and Results in 2022
which our PhD students and colleagues achieved

Our colleagues and PhD students participated in several scientific conferences, where they presented their work in front of professional audience.

Two of our PhD students represented BME ETT on November 21-22, 2022 at the IEEE Joint 22nd International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics and 8th International Conference on Recent Achievements in Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Science and Robotics (CINTI-MACRo 2022). The event took place at the Óbuda University and at the Sapienta University in Romania, also some presentations were held online.

Behnaz Motamedi made an oral presentation; the title was "Design of a Smart Irrigation using wireless communication protocols in Greenhouse". The topic examined in this study is connected to one of the key challenges for farmers, which is controlling the condition of crops in greenhouses, which diminishes agricultural products, wastes a lot of time and energy, and over irrigation. In this study, common wireless communication protocols in smart greenhouses have been compared.

I Made Putrama also gave an oral presentation at the CINTI-MACRo 2022. He submitted an article related to data integration entitled "An Automated Graph Construction Approach from Relational Databases to Neo4j".

Our head of department, prof. Balázs Illés was an invited speaker with his presentation entitled Investigating Sn whisker growth from SnAgCu composite solder joints at the 12th International Advances in Applied Physics & Materials Science Congress & Exhibition (APMAS), on October 13-19, 2022 in Oludeniz, Muğla, Turkey. APMAS is an annual global forum for researchers and engineers to present and discuss recent innovations and new technologies in materials technology; with about 350 participants.

Ravi Sharma presented his paper entitled "The fundamentals and strategies of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) in Industry 4.0" at the IEEE 3rd International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Energy Technologies, ICECET, Prague, Czech Republic, 20-22 July 2022. The paper summarizes the dual escalation of maintenance beginning with the history and evolution of maintenance with corrective and preventive approaches, then progressed to preventive and, finally, proactive maintenance. The evolution of the techniques and technologies were discussed, starting with statistical, machine, and deep learning approaches and progressing to the development of various maintenance-related architectures and elements. He also discussed maintenance architectures, combined standards, best practices, defined protocols, and interfaces. He investigated how various aspects of maintenance were applied and integrated into various fields of information technology, particularly next-generation networks, IIoT, and Industry 4.0.

Atallo Kassaw Takele presented his research work at the 2022 IEEE 2nd Conference on Information Technology and Data Science (CITDS) , which was organized by the Faculty of Informatics, University of Debrecen, Hungary. The presentation was online in Debrecen, Hungary, from May 1618, 2022. The title of his paper presented is: "Anomaly Detection Using Hybrid Learning for Industrial IoT". Majority of security problems in Industrial IoT are caused by abnormal nodes. Timely and accurately detecting anomalies in resource constraint devices is a big challenge. He proposed a typical resource saving hybrid learning based anomaly detection framework for Industrial IoT.

Appreciations for the supervisors and co-authors as well: Balázs Villányi and Péter Martinek.
